There is massive investment in the city and the opening of the new tramway will give a further boost to Nice property prices and rejuvenate the city. Investors take note: Bordeaux, which completed its tramway project in 2003, saw property prices rise by 40% over the next two years.

The key to the successful ownership of Nice property is choosing the location very carefully as each of the clearly defined quarters offers distinctly different types and prices of property.

Enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the famous flower and food market on Cours Saleya next to the beach. Property here tends to be ‘compact and bijou’ but has huge letting potential to tourists. There is a bus stop for the Airport ‘navette’ and good bus links to the rest of the city.

Nice Port is only five or ten minutes from the Old Town but there is less bustle here and more antique shops! Property in Nice Port could be let to the luxury yachting fraternity. It is also home to Nice’s Roman ruins and the Chagall and Matisse galleries. Cimiez property is a ten minute bus ride away from the vibrant Old Town, the beach and the main shopping streets.

Don’t let the name mislead you, Musiciens is a quiet residential quarter without a night club in sight. Its understated chic contrasts favourably with the more glitzy Carré d’Or only five minutes away.
