View All PropertiesPyrénées ski property not only offers better value for money than the Alps, but the resorts are quieter and more authentically French. Your ski chalet or apartment here is easily accessed by no-frills flights into Biarritz, Perpignan, Pau, Toulouse and Carcassonne. If you’re buying ski property to let then resorts in the foothills closer to the beaches of the Med, such as Font-Romeu, will allow you to put together a ‘ski and sea’ package.
In the Auvergne, the spa town of Le Mont Dore is one of the oldest ski stations in France and buying a ski property here will afford you the totally unique experience of skiing down the side of an extinct volcano! Equally memorable is the opportunity to swim in certain volcanoes in summer – making for a dual-season package that no other region can offer.
Almost as memorable is skiing through the dense forests of the Vosges mountains in eastern France. Ski property in Vosges resorts such as Gérardmer will have year-round tourist appeal as there are also the regional parks of Vosges du Nord and Ballons des Vosges to discover. Air France flies to Strasbourg from Gatwick; and Ryanair, British Airways and Swiss Air fly to Basel/Mulhouse from London. If you want to let the train take the strain, then there is a new TGV link from Paris.
Ski property in the Jura enjoys altitudes of up to 1,723m within the Parc Naturel Régional du Haut-Jura. The Jura is separated from the Alps by Lac Léman and the region is easily accessed by flights to nearby Geneva.
Further south, ski property in the Vercors benefits from its close proximity to the Alpes and to Provence. Property in the enchanting Villard-de-Lans enjoys a magical setting and together with Correncon and Vercors the village shares 120km of skiable slopes served by 37 lifts. The Vercors is part of the ancient Dauphine province nowadays covered by the Drôme and Isère departments, the latter is home to over 30 ski resorts including Alpe d’Huez and les Deux Alpes.
